Royal Ontario Museum: Apturi III Track Lights

Lighting Flemish Masterworks at the ROM

The Royal Ontario Museum, Canada’s largest museum, deployed over 60 of Lumicrest’s Apturi III Gallery track luminaires exclusively to illuminate their flagship exhibition of centuries-old Flemish masterworks, Saints, Sinners, Lovers and Fools. The Apturi III is a premium art gallery and museum lighting fixture with high-grade adjustable optics and 97 CRI colour rendering.

Gallery professionals, photographers and visitors have noted the remarkable clarity of the lighting and consistency of the colour rendering.

With fully adjustable beam angles and onboard per-light dimming, ROM staff were able to quickly and precisely fine-tune the lighting to meet the exhibition’s exacting requirements, ensuring each work is displayed in perfect clarity to help immerse viewers in the 16th and 17th century Flemish world.

  • A game changer

Lumicrest’s Apturi3 lighting system has transformed our approach to gallery lighting for short-term exhibitions. Its versatility makes it much quicker and easier for our staff to set up and adjust, eliminating the need to swap fixtures, lenses, or bulbs. The Apturi3 truly covers all bases.

The excellent light quality, precise beam control, built-in dimming, and high color rendering allow us to showcase artworks clearly while protecting light-sensitive materials. The modular design and intuitive controls have quickly made Apturi3 an indispensable tool for creating dynamic, flexible gallery environments at the ROM.”
