Introducing our new Chameleon aluminum profile, designed by Lumicrest. Why is it called the Chameleon? Because it can be adapted to be used in several different ways.
It can surface mounted with invisible rear-mounted clips, for a perfectly seamless appearance. Or it can be suspended with aircraft cables to become and elegant linear pendant light. What’s really unique is that the diffuser can be mounted in different positions: the top of the profile as usual, or dropped into the profile about 1/8 inch to create a small scrim to hide the light source to reduce glare and increase comfort. The diffuser can even be mounted at an angle inside the profile if you wish.
Like the Workhorse and Anvil profiles, the Chameleon exactly 5/8 of an inch wide, and it shares the same flat-surface diffusing plastic cover, made from fireproof self-extinguishing polycarbonate.
We know sometimes items get misplaced on construction sites. So now you can purchase more diffusers separately from us if you need to (or even add a black diffuser – that’s a thing). If you need to replace lost diffusers, it’s much easier to do when they are interchangeable (finally!)
Almost forgot to mention we stock the Chameleon in white, black and silver finishes, to suit any decor. No more waiting for painting or powder-coating.
LED strips up to 12 mm wide fit inside. Perfect for pendant lighting, display units, cove lighting, and just about anywhere you can imagine. This version has no edge lip, it can be used for surface or recessed mounting. Because it’s a bit deeper than Workhorse and Anvil it’s the perfect choice for LED strips that need a bit more diffusion like Dim-to-Warm, and LED strips with discrete LEDs (non-dotless types)
This product can be cut to any length. You may do it yourself or request Lumicrest to do it for you.
