The prestigious Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in Toronto, Canada, is renowned for its many galleries and exhibits focused, on art, archaeology, historical artifacts and more.
The conservators and curators were concerned about how to light the collection of antique textiles and historical fashions and costumes. They needed to adhere not only to light level and UV restrictions but also ensure that the visitors could appreciate the details and colours in the pieces.
Enter Lumicrest.
After consulting with their lighting designers, conservators, curators and others at the ROM, Lumicrest proposed their High CRI LED strip lights, in custom length extruded aluminum fixtures. The High CRI ensures that the artifacts are lit to that brings out the details and colours, using compatible PWM dimmers allows the light levels to be managed, and the absence of heat and UV rays in the LED strip light protects against damage from long term exposure.
