Description

New research has shown that the coronavirus and other pathogens can build up in the air from an infected person breathing, talking, coughing or sneezing, dramatically increasing chances of spreading infection. Here’s a CNN article about how exposure time affects your likelihood of infection from airborne coronavirus.

To counter that, this device quietly draws in airborne particles, kills pathogens and emits purified air, to help control the viral presence in any space and reduce the risk of infection.

It uses a special type of UVC quartz mercury lamp safely hidden within. It’s designed specifically for cleaning the air of small spaces of up to 100 square feet using UVC light. UltraViolet light is a proven technology that’s been safely used for disinfecting, killing germs, bacteria and viruses in hospital operating rooms for years. For larger spaces you can use additional units. Under the FAQs tab above, you can see the laboratory test results of the effectiveness of this light against various pathogens.

Just plug it into any AC outlet and let it run! No need for occupants to leave the room as the light is hidden inside and the air in drawn into it for cleaning.

(If your wall outlet happens to be mounted sideways or upside down, it’s no problem. The plug on the lamp can be rotated, so the light can be upright no matter what.)

Replacement bulbs for this product are available here.

Q: How long will the bulb last? Can it be changed?
A: This type of bulb (quartz-mercury) lasts about 5,000 hours. Yes it can be changed. Replacement bulbs are available here.

Q: You’re an LED company. Does this device use LEDs?
A: No, this one does not. It’s a type of UVC doped-quartz-mercury bulb. But it’s still very useful. UVC LEDs are rather expensive now, but we are looking at LED based products as well.

Q: Wait, quartz-mercury? How do I safely dispose of the bulb if it contains mercury?
A: As you would for any other type of bulb that contains mercury. It should not go into your regular garbage but disposed of in toxic waste recycling please!

Q: UVC is supposed to be invisible, but I can see light from the rim and middle. What’s that?
A: The bulb emits mainly in the 254 nm UVC range but there also a little residual violet light and some other parts of the visual spectrum. That’s the glow you see. It’s intentionally made visible at the rim and middle so that you know the light is working.

Q: Can this device reduce odors in the air?
A: It will do that, yes.

Q: Is this device cETL electrical-safety certified for Canada and USA?
A: Yes it is.
